Bullying Has Plummeted in the Last Decade

Newly Released Stats Show Bullying Has Plummeted in the Last Decade

The whole bullying issue has been a big topic for about ten years now.  But has all that awareness actually produced results?  Apparently the answer is YES.

The Department of Education recently released new data from 2015 that wasn't available until now.  And there's been a pretty huge drop in bullying since a similar survey they did in 2007.

Back then, 32% of kids between 12 and 18 said they'd been bullied, or were currently being bullied.  And by 2015, that number had fallen to 21%.  So in less than 10 years, it dropped by more than a THIRD.

Here are three more stats from the survey . . .

1.  Just over 4% of kids say they're bullied at school now, down from about 7% in 2007.

2.  7% of kids say they've been called a hateful word, down from 10%.

3.  Kids are more likely to tell an adult if they're being bullied . . . 43%, compared to 36% in 2007.
