Nobody enjoys not being able to get a good night’s sleep, but for a lot of folks, even if they do everything right they still have trouble getting all the shut eye they need. Well, that could be due to age, and a new survey reveals the exact age where a person’s sleep will start declining.
A new UK poll, which could easily translate here, finds:
- Almost half of adults say they slept better when they were younger.
- People are most likely to get their best sleep at the age of 24, and then it starts to go downhill.
- 37% of people between 25 and 54 say this was when they got the worst sleep in their life.
- So, what is getting in the way of folks getting a good night’s sleep?
- Well, the most common factors include:
- Family stress
- Work stress
- Room temperature
- Financial worries
- Too much screen time
- And while 84% of people say sleep is “very important,” more than half feel that as they get older, they can survive on less of it.
- Only 14% say they get eight hours of sleep each night, which is recommended.
- About a third get only seven hours, while 25% get six, ad 24% get only five or less.
