The 10 Oddest Guinness World Records of the Year
There's a Guinness World Record for EVERYTHING. (Almost. My submission for "Most Red Lights Hit, While Trying to Run One Simple Errand" is still pending.)
Guinness keeps a database of more than 40,000 records, and someone put together a list of the 10 ODDEST Guinness World Records of 2023. They are:
1. Most skips by a cat in one minute. The record is NINE. (Here's video, and there's more information, here.)
2. Loudest burp (female). The record is 107.3 decibels. (Here's video, and there's more information, here.)
3. Longest distance, full-body burn run, without oxygen. That's basically RUNNING ON FIRE. The record is 272.25 meters, or just over 893 feet. (Here's video, and there's more information, here.)
4. Longest tongue on a living dog. The record is 13.9 centimeters, which is almost five-and-a-half inches. (Here's video, and there's more info, here.)
5. Most spoons balanced on the body. The record is 88. (Here's video, and there's more info, here.)
6. Most magic tricks underwater, in three minutes. The record is 38 . . . and it was set by a 13-year-old girl, who's also an avid scuba diver. (Here's video, and there's more info, here.)
7. Most couples eating a single piece of spaghetti simultaneously . . . "Lady and the Tramp"-style. The record is 463 pairs. (Here's video, and there's more info, here.)
