Chase Stokes said it was “bittersweet” to wrap up Outer Banks.
Stokes, 33, said in a red carpet interview ahead of the 2026 Oscars on Sunday evening (March 15) that “it’s really bittersweet,” to say goodbye to the series. In a clip shared by the Academy on Instagram, Stokes confirmed, “we did [finish filming Outer Banks], yes. We finished in December. It’s really bittersweet. Everything great in life, you got to know when to let it go. And it’s time to land the plane.”
Stokes stars in the show alongside Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey and others. “On an island of haves and have-nots, teen John B [Stokes] enlists his three best friends to hunt for a legendary treasure linked to his father's disappearance,” the show’s description reads on IMDb. Outer Banks premiered in 2020. The final season’s premiere date has not been announced as of publication time.
Stokes went on to talk about his previous ambitions to become a hockey player (and why he had to “give it up”), his journey to become an actor and more. Watch the interview below.
