We already know that Katy Perry is on board, but it looks like American Idol has its sights set on another judge...Lionel Richie.
According to TMZ, producers think his legendary music career makes him a perfect pick. Plus he's extremely outgoing, which would be great for TV.
There's now word if Idol has formally reached out to Richie, and his people have yet to comment on the rumors.
