Florence Pugh is opening up about the "mind-boggling realization" she had last year that led to her freezing her eggs in the hopes of having children in the future.

The 28-year-old We Live in Time star recently sat down with Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi (Dr. A) and Mary Alice Haney on their podcast She MD to explain how a strange "feeling" led to her getting medical tests that revealed she had endometriosis and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), per People.

"I had this sudden feeling that I should go and get everything checked," she said. "I'd had a few weird dreams. I think my body was telling me."

Pugh said that when she met with Dr. A, the doctor asked if she had ever had an egg count done, which she had never considered because she was "so young." She was also diagnosed with endometriosis and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and given her medical conditions, which can affect fertility, Dr. A suggested the Midsommar actress freeze her eggs in the case of having kids sometime in the future.

"It was just so bizarre because my family are baby-making machines. My mom had babies into her forties. My gran had babies throughout ... And then of course, I learned completely different information, at age 27, that I need to get my eggs out, and do it quickly, which was just a bit of a mind-boggling realization, and one that I'm really lucky and glad that I found out when I did because I've been wanting kids since I was a child."

Pugh isn't the only star who has shared their experience of freezing their eggs in order to expand their family. Earlier this year, Olivia Munn opened up about her choice to undergo the procedure amid her breast cancer journey. The Newsroom actress and her husband, John Mulaney, recently welcomed their daughter Méi via surrogate. The couple are also parents to 2-year-old son Malcolm.
