Safety Tips!

Even though you probably already know you and the kids should be careful tonight, did you know you are far more likely to be hit by a car on Halloween? Yep, according to a new study, you're 43% more likely to be hit and killed by a car on Halloween than any other night of the year. I hate to drag you down and everything but parents also keep in mind that kids between the ages of 4 and 8 are FIVE TIMES more likely to be injured or killed on Halloween with the most dangerous time of night falling between 6:00 and 7:00 PM. So please keep that in mind tonight along with these 3 safety tips.

1. Make sure the drivers can see you. That means glow sticks and bright colors, maybe even reflective tape, especially if your kid's costume is a dark color

2. Watch out for drunk drivers. A government study found they cause about 14% of all casualties associated with the holiday.

3. Make sure your kid's costume doesn't make it hard to walk, and make sure your child can see through his or her mask. I once went trick or treating for a full block before I realized no one had been putting candy in my bag. My mask was so big I couldn't see what was going on at all. Don't let that happen to you! Stay safe and have fun!
