Three men are behind bars after attempting to loot a New Brunswick, Canada home and fleeing on canoes. Victim Markus Harvey, who lives in the area’s flood zone says he’d awaken in the early hours to men climbing his stairs waving around a flashlight. They said he needed to evacuate due to the flooding, but Harvey knew much better. Harvey, who stands at six-feet-tall and weighing over 200 pounds called out to the intruders in a loud voice, which sent them running. The homeowner heard splashes and looked out his window to find the masked thieves take one of Harvey’s canoes and row away. That’s when the victim rallied his neighbors and called police. They were able to nab the suspects in under an hour. Brandon Hatchard and Travis Hunt have been charged with break and enter and possession of stolen property, while Chance Leslie has been charged with break and enter, possession of stolen property and breach of probation.
